'Pamela Holmes wrote The Huntingfield Paintress after a chance visit to a Suffolk church. Her second novel, Wyld Dreamers, draws on the years she spent on a Somerset commune in the 1970s. She is currently writing a film script for The Huntingfield Paintress. Her third novel, The Curious Life of Elizabeth Blackwell, based on the life of a eighteenth-century woman herbalist who frees her husband from debtors' jail, is published this autumn.
