About the Event
Zeb Soanes will talk about his writing life, especially his charming bestselling Gaspard books for children, inspired by Zeb’s own encounters with an urban fox. Recently two of the Gaspard books have been conceived as orchestral concert works, sometimes narrated by Zeb himself. Zeb’s wonderful rich tones were heard for years on BBC radio where he was news presenter, as well as the reassuring voice of the Shipping Forecast. He’ll join us on a Friday as his ‘Relaxing Evenings’ programme on Classic FM keeps him busy midweek. In 2023 he was made an Honorary Doctor of the University of Suffolk, in recognition of his ‘outstanding contribution to education, music, media and literature and very public endorsement and celebration of Suffolk’.
